Randy Primas
Born and raised in Camden, Mr. Randy R. Primas has dedicated tremendous efforts and long hours into helping restore Camden to its former glory. Mr. Primas has worked tirelessly on behalf of many organizations who work to achieve this goal.
Nowhere is his dedication more apparent than at the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County. Mr. Primas was the Founding Board’s first and only choice to lead their efforts to build a Clubhouse in Camden. Mr. Primas took on the challenge to bring the nation’s preeminent youth serving agency to his hometown. The Clubhouse quickly became a safe place for children to grow, learn and have fun. Mr. Primas’ lifetime accomplishments make him a positive role model for youth who now see the Club house as their home away from home.
Mr. Primas is a consummate Board volunteer. He has been the spearhead of this organization since its inception. He has single-handedly steered forward-thinking individuals and corporate leaders in the positive direction of improving the lives of Camden’s children. Despite a climate of negative reactions and disbelief from people that a “Positive Place for Kids” could exist in the City of Camden, Mr. Primas persevered. He didn’t give up. His persistence paid off and today over 1,900 Camden City and Camden County youth are being served in the Clubhouse in Camden. Today there are plans underway for two more Clubhouses to be built in Camden County within the next four years and Mr. Primas is also entrenched in the machinations which will bring these plans into reality.
But, Mr. Primas’ commitment to the Boys & Girls Club Movement doesn’t end at the borders of Camden County. In year’s past he has facilitate sponsorship of the State Youth of the Year Dinner. More recently, he was probably the most instrumental individual in facilitating the recent $1 million State appropriation for Boys & Girls Clubs throughout the state of New Jersey.
With all the accomplishments he has achieved on the Club’s behalf, he remains a humble, hard working person. He is a prime example to all Boys & Girls Club staff, volunteers and youth that leadership, a strong character, and a developed sense of community responsibility and citizenship will help a person to make a difference.
