Ted Deutsch, Boys & Girls Clubs of Trenton/Mercer County
Deutsch Communications Group Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey is grateful to have Ted Deutsch as a member of the BGCNJ Marketing Advisory Board where he has served for the past year and a half providing expertise on cause marketing and communications. Most recently, Ted headed a team that coordinated a very successful Public Forum on After School Programs at the Union Boys & Girls Club. An alumnus of the former Paramus Club, Ted is principal and founder of Deutsch Communications Group based in Princeton, New Jersey.
Prior to starting his own company, Ted served as Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs for Cendant Car Rental Group, where he was responsible for internal communications to more than 26,000 employees and external relations for Avis Rent A Car and Budget Rent A Car. During his years with Cendant Corp. and Washington, DC public affairs firm APCO Worldwide, he worked on projects for household brands like Century 21®, Ramada®, UPS® and Roche®, while forgingpartnerships with nonprofit’s like Make-A-Wish Foundation®, Special Olympics®, MADD® and Afterschool Allstars®. He has earned third party recognition for employee communications (AvisNews), and issue-oriented campaigns (Avis Access program for travelers with disabilities). In addition, to supporting the statewide collaborative, Ted also volunteers at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Trenton/Mercer County mentoring a youth and devoting time towards Trenton’s marketing and public relations efforts.
A New Jersey native, Ted earned his A.B. in History from Princeton University and M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. He currently serves on the board of directors of Morristown, New Jersey-based Project Acorn, and the advisoryboard of The Princeton University Center for Civic Engagement.Ted and his wife Jessica live with their son and daughter in central New Jersey, where they are active with the schools, civic organizations and Princeton Little League.
